Introduction

This page describes the main features/apps/improvements that will be included in future versions of eyeOS. Please, use the Whishlist page, or the eyeOS Forums to suggest improvements to the Roadmap. You can follow the new version development from the Subversion server.

eyeOS 1.3 Roadmap

eyeOS 1.3 will bring new applications, improvements to the base applications and to the desktop.


About community projects in eyeOS 1.3

This Roadmap currently includes only new applications and improvements from the eyeOS Core Team. Community applications that will be included in eyeOS 1.3.0 will be announced at this page soon.


New Applications

  • eyeSheets, the eyeOS Spreadsheets application, with Microsoft Excel support!
  • The new eyeCalendar: Almost brand new calendar with:
    • Multiple event types (in different Colors), user customizable.
    • Different views:
      • Week view (actual one)
      • Day view
      • Month view
    • Import/export for some common formats
    • Internationalization


Desktop Improvements

  • Right click service, modularized, so each application can customize its right click actions.


Main Improvements in Base Applications

  • eyeContacts with a better importing/exporting tool and use of Toolbar widget.
  • eyeFiles with use of the new Right Click menu, tree view for folders instead of actions, use of the Menus bar and more).


System improvements

  • New widgets (Menus bar)
  • Client/Server identifier service to allow applications customize it's system and visual forms for each platform.
  • VFS reloaded with new functions and support for internationalization for all platforms.


eyeOS 1.3 Timing

  • eyeOS 1.3.0 Release will be out by December 27th.
