Welcome to the eyeOS Translations wiki page. If you want to download a translation for eyeOS, you should go to the eyeOS Translations page. This page shows translators how to start translating eyeOS.

In first place, thanks for aiming to translate eyeOS!

Before you start a new translation, please take a look at the existing ones and make sure, that nobody started it yet.

Translations system

Since June 2008 we are using a new translations system at eyeos.org/translate. You need an own account at it to translate eyeOS. It is easy to handle and makes it easier for you and us.


Contact Us

First contact our translation manager Lars Knickrehm from Germany. He will answer you every question according translations and websites.


If you contact him, please tell him your full real name, your E-Mail address and your preferred username. With that information he will be able to create a new account for you.


Our Reply

After your account has been created, you will be able to start translating!


How to translate

Right after you logged in, please start the System preferences. Now click Translate eyeOS (last link at the left side).


Translatable parts

Now you can find a Select box at the right top of the window. There you can select what you want to translate.


New

If no translation is in your list you need to click New. Next you need to fulfil the following dialogue.


Edit

Now select the translation you created and select Edit.


Create

If you select a translation and select Create. That creates the translation at the translations system and you are able to check it there. (remember to use that language for the system!)


Download

If you are ready, select a translation and click Download. Now you get an eyePackage, which can be published at eyeos-apps.org. eyeos.org/translate will be updated periodically.
